Reading books can be a great way to pick up new vocabulary, see grammar in action and develop your understanding of a language.
EarEye provides the following unique ways to help you read a book and learn english:
for WORDS
1. All words can be marked as learning or known and then they will be highlighted in different ways when reading a book.
2. Learning words will be scheduled for review using the SuperMemo algorithm.
3. Three types of tests are provided for word review: Match Definition with Words, Multiple Choices with Definitions, and Listening Exam.
4. Word pronunciation by native speakers are provided, including both American and British ones.
5. An offline dictionary is provided.
for SENTENCES
1. For audiobook, lyrics of the audio file are provided so each sentence can be played separately.
2. Sentences can be marked as learning and then they will be highlighted.
3. Learning sentences will also be scheduled for review.
4. The following actions are supported to sentences:
Note: add a note to the sentence.
Memo: add a memo to the sentence. When reviewing, the memo will used as a question.
5. For audiobook, more actions are supported to sentences:
Audio: edit the sentences start time and end time in the audio file.
Play: each sentence can be played.
Recite: record your read of the sentence to compare yours with the native speakers.
